The Studio of Migy Blanco
I have been making illustration with ink, grain and period lettering since 2001. The work lives at the intersection of two worlds — Mid-Century Modern's clean optimism and the heavier, noir atmosphere of Art Deco — and it has stayed stubbornly handmade throughout.
I grew up in the UK, spent formative years working in Buenos Aires, and now run my studio from The Silk Mill in Frome, Somerset. The Argentine chapter left a mark: a certain confidence with colour, a tolerance for darkness, an instinct that illustration should feel like it was made by a specific person in a specific room.
The clients who find me tend to be looking for the same thing — work that carries genuine atmospheric weight, that looks like nothing a machine generated, that will still feel right in twenty years. That has meant board game universes for Funko — Pan Am, Jurassic Park, Only Murders in the Building — book jackets for Harlequin and HarperCollins, maps for hospitality brands, label illustration for drinks and spirits, and poster work for institutions like the National Arts Centre Canada.
The studio trades as Analog Soul. The name is the brief.
For North American publishing and editorial enquiries, I am represented by i2i Art Inc. in Toronto. For everything else, come direct.
